Barrett Teeples
Joseph Barrett Teeples, CRNP, FNP-BC, is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner at Hendrix Healthcare, specializing in primary care and chronic disease management. With a strong focus on preventative care, Joseph is committed to helping patients achieve their best quality of life through compassionate, patient-centered care.
He graduated from Ardmore High School (2017) and pursued higher education at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, earning a Master’s of Science in Nursing. He completed 5 preceptorship rotations in Limestone County, AL, and Giles County, TN, further honing his skills in family and acute care nursing. Barrett was a 2023 Honor Graduate of UAH Master’s of Science in Nursing.
Barrett brings over seven years of experience in healthcare and two years as a nurse practitioner, including his background as a critical care nurse and a patient care technician in medical ICU units. His approach to medicine emphasizes building relationships and friendships with patients while prioritizing their health and well-being.
Outside of work, Barrett enjoys hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and weight lifting, and he values his connection to the community and enjoys sharing his passion for health and wellness. He chose Hendrix Healthcare due to his admiration for Dr. Hendrix’s patient-centered approach and his long-standing friendship with Raece Flynt, CRNP.
Barrett advises his patients to prioritize a balanced lifestyle with regular physical activity, a nutritious diet rich in whole foods, adequate sleep, stress management, and routine health check-ups.
